Christmas Celebrations 2023

It is a great pleasure to welcome everyone to the 4th edition of our Christmas Anthology!!!

Today is the 248th anniversary of the birth of our beloved author, and what better way to celebrate it than remembering her great work, which in one way or another inspires us.

This has been a year of many challenges, growth and learning, and if there is always one thing that remains constant, it is the great support from the Jane Austen community of fans.

It was a great surprise to be at the AGM in Denver of the Jane Austen Society of North America and to receive all their supportive comments about my work. It was so encouraging to have so many people (whether JAFF readers or not) cheering me on, especially JASNA president Mary Mintz, authors Devoney Looser and Syrie James, and the director of the Jane Austen House Museum, Lizzie Dunford. Being able to meet and listen to them was such a pleasure.

I want to thank everyone who made this project possible, the authors: Summer, Don, Stephanie, Leslie, Emily, Tiffany, Zarilda, Charlotte and Leigh. Thank you for responding to the invitation to participate in this anthology! We know that your beautiful stories will fill the hearts of our readers this holiday season.

Sincere thanks for all the support to my family, especially to my sister Mariana and my mom Elisa. Thanks to Julia (Ladywithpug) for collaborating with your illustrations, and thanks to Belén for your great support. And thanks to my husband, Luis, for all the sleepless nights and always supporting me in all my projects.

In this four years I never thought about having illustrations, as this work is for free. At the beginning of the year, Julia reach out to me, offering to do some illustrations, and I´m really happy for how they came.

Hi readers! I am so proud and excited to be a part of this anthology. I’m from the border of Texas and Mexico and I am so happy to be able to finally share some of my writing with my Spanish-speaking friends and my hometown community. I hope this anthology brings you into the spirit of the holiday and gives you ALL warm fuzzies! Love you all so much!

The Festive Season 2023 is in full swing and it’s a busy time everywhere. Janeites are also preparing to have fun at Jane Austen’s Birthday parties and to dance at Winter Balls.
And it is time for kindness and gifts.

One such wonderful gift that has become a tradition is the Christmas Celebrations Anthology by editor and translator Cristy Huelsz.
It is amazing that 2023 will see the 4th edition already!
Many talented authors are once again sharing their Christmas stories and book excerpts with readers for free.
And not only English-speaking readers, but also Spanish-speaking readers will be able to brighten up their Christmas with JAFF!

Last December, when the third Anthology came out, I thought why not decorate it with a few illustrations.
I am honored to take part in this project as an illustrator this year and hope that I was able to capture the magic and warmth of these stories in my drawings.
Because this Anthology is not just a gift to fellow Janeites, but Readers themselves are a Gift and a Blessing to creators. It is Readers and their love for JAFF that inspire writers and artists and make this project live.
Therefore, I would like to say a huge Thank You for your interest in our work, and to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
